✧ Censure of Lying and Praise of Truthfulness

وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ. / 2 - وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ هُوَ ابْنُ سِنَانٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
« تَقَبَّلُوا لِي سِتًّا أَتَقَبَّلْ لَكُمُ الْجَنَّةَ »، قِيلَ: مَا هِيَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: « إِذَا حَدَّثْتُمْ فَلَا تَكْذِبُوا، وَإِذَا وَعَدْتُمْ، فَلَا تُخْلِفُوا، وَإِذَا اؤْتُمِنْتُمْ فَلَا تَخُونُوا، وَغُضُّوا أَبْصَارَكُمْ، وَاحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَكُمْ، وَكُفُّوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ

✧ 'Accept six things from me and I will accept Paradise for you.' It was said, 'What are they, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'When you speak, do not lie; when you promise, do not break it; when you are entrusted, do not betray; lower your gazes, guard your private parts, and restrain your hands.'
