al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 3131

Translation

✧ Uyaynah b. al-Mundhir ؓ was sitting with the Messenger of God ﷺ, and with him was another man, and he had some of his wives with him. That man asked for a drink, and a beverage was brought. When he began to drink, they screened him. Uyaynah said: 'O Messenger of God, what is this?' He ﷺ said: 'This is a trait that God, the Exalted, gave to some people and withheld from you; this is modesty.'
