حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، حَدَّثَنَا هُذَيْلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ دُخَانٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ هُذَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، قَالَ:

« إِنَّ هَذَا الشِّعْرَ جَزْلٌ مِنْ كَلَامِ الْعَرَبِ، يُعْطَى بِهِ السَّائِلُ، وَيُكْظَمُ بِهِ الْغَيْظُ، وَبِهِ يَبْلُغُ الْقَوْمُ فِي نَادِيهِمْ

Translation

✧ This poetry is eloquent speech of the Arabs. By it the beggar is given, anger is suppressed, and people attain their goal in their assembly.
