وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ ؓ:
رَحِمَ اللهُ لَبِيدًا، قَالَ: ذَهَبَ الَّذِينَ يُعَاشُ فِي أَكْنَافِهِمْ وَبَقِيتُ فِي خَلْفٍ كَجِلْدِ الْأَجْرَبِ فَكَانَ أَبِي يَقُولُ: رَحِمَ اللهُ عَائِشَةَ ؓ، فَكَيْفَ لَوْ رَأَتْ زَمَانَنَا هَذَا
Translation

✧ May Allah have mercy on Labid. He said: "Gone are those in whose protection one could live, and I remain among a succession like the skin of a mangy camel." My father used to say: May Allah have mercy on Aishah ؓ. How would it be if she saw our time now?
