قَالَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ: حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:

الضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ، فَمَا فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ أَلَا فَلْيَرْتَحِلِ الضَّيْفُ الضَّيْفَ وَلَا يَشُقَّ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. Ṣadaqah b. Mūsá
  3. Layth b. Abū Sulaym
  4. Ziyād
  5. Abū Hurayrah
  6. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ Hospitality is for three days, and whatever is beyond that is charity. The guest should depart and not burden the household.
