✧ What is lawful for the governor from the subjects' wealth

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ خِدَاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثَنَا بَشِيرُ بْنُ الْمُهَاجِرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ، قَالَ:
أَهْدَى أَمِيرُ الْقِبْطِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ جَارِيَتَيْنِ أُخْتَيْنِ وَبَغْلَةً، فَكَانَ ﷺ يَرْكَبُ الْبَغْلَةَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، وَاتَّخَذَ إِحْدَى الْجَارِيَتَيْنِ لِنَفْسِهِ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَوَهَبَ الْأُخْرَى لِحَسَّانَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ؓ

✧ The ruler of the Copts gifted the Prophet ﷺ two slave-girls who were sisters and a mule. He ﷺ used to ride the mule in Madinah. He kept one of the two slave-girls for himself, and she bore him Ibrahim, and he gave the other to Hassan b. Thabit ؓ.
