وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ، ثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، أَخْبَرَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِزَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ أَوْ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ؓ: إِذَا بَعَثْتَ سَرِيَّةً فَلَا تُفْسِدْهُمْ وَأَهْبِطْهُمْ ; فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى يَنْصُرُ الْقَوْمَ بِأَضْعَفِهِمْ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said to Zayd b. Harithah, or to 'Amr b. al-'As ؓ: "When you dispatch a raiding party, do not corrupt them, and keep them in low ground; for God Most High grants victory to the people through their weakest."
