وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُجَاهِدًا، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ:

أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَصْحَبَهُ رَجُلٌ فِي سَفَرِهِ اشْتَرَطَ أَنْ لَا يَصْحَبَنَا عَلَى بَعِيرٍ غَيْرِ حَلَالٍ، وَلَا يُنَازِعَنَا الْأَذَانَ، وَلَا يَصُومَنَّ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِنَا. قَالَ نَافِعٌ: وَكَانَ رَجُلٌ يَصْحَبُهُ فِي السَّفَرِ، فَيَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نُوقِظَهُ وَنُهَيِّئَ لَهُ سَحُورَهُ

✧ When a man wanted to accompany him on his journey, he would stipulate that he should not accompany us on an unlawful camel, nor dispute with us over the call to prayer, nor fast except with our permission. Nafi' said: There was a man who accompanied him on a journey, and he would order us to wake him and prepare his pre-dawn meal.
