✧ What Is Said to the Newly Married Man

قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ، نَبَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؓ، قَالَ:
بَعَثَتْنِي أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ... فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ. قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَخَرَجْنَا، وَكَانَ حَدِيثَ عَهْدٍ بِعُرْسِ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ ؓ، فَمَرَّ بِنِسَائِهِ فَهَنَّأْنَهُ، وَهَنَّأَهُ النَّاسُ، فَقَالُوا: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ، أَقَرَّ اللهُ عَيْنَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ !

✧ Umm Salamah sent me to the Prophet ﷺ... and he mentioned the hadith. He said: Then he took my hand and we went out, and he had recently married Zaynab bt. Jahsh ؓ. He passed by his wives and they congratulated him, and the people congratulated him, saying: 'Praise be to Allah; may Allah cool your eyes, O Messenger of Allah!'
