✧ Regarding ostrich eggs that a muhrim breaks: 'Make your male camel mount your she-camels, and when their pregnancy becomes clear to you, designate the number of eggs you broke, and say: This is a sacrificial animal, and you are not responsible for its guarantee. Whatever of that turns out good is good, and whatever is spoiled, you are not liable for it, just like eggs: some of them turn out good and some spoil.' He said: Muawiyah ؓ marveled at Ali's ؓ ruling, and Ibn Abbas ؓ said: Muawiyah was not impressed with what it was, except with what the eggs would be sold for in the market and given in charity.
