✧ Invalidators of Ablution

وَقَالَ أَيْضًا: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ:

إِنَّ عُمَرَ ؓ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ، فَخَرَجَ مِنْ إِنْسَانٍ شَيْءٌ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ: « عَزَمْتُ عَلَى صَاحِبِ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ وَيُعِيدَ صَلَاتَهُ ». قَالَ جَرِيرٌ ؓ: أَوَتَعْزِمُ عَلَى كُلِّ مَنْ سَمِعَهَا أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ، وَأَنْ يُعِيدَ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ قَالَ: « نِعْمَ مَا قَلْتَ، جَزَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا »، فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِذَلِكَ

Translation

✧ Umar ؓ led the people in prayer, and something passed from a person. Umar ؓ said: "I adjure the one who passed this wind to perform ablution and repeat his prayer." Jarir ؓ said: "Will you adjure everyone who heard it to perform ablution and repeat the prayer?" He said: "What a good thing you have said, may God reward you well." So he ordered them to do that.
