✧ Fasting Shaban and Shawwal

قَالَ الْحَارِثُ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ يَطَّلِعُ لَيْلَةَ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ إِلَى خَلْقِهِ، فَيَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ كُلِّهِمْ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ مُشْرِكًا أَوْ مُصَارِمًا. قَالُوا: وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ، فَيَدْخُلُ رَمَضَانُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ تَعْظِيمًا لِرَمَضَانَ

✧ Your Lord looks upon His creation on the night of the middle of Sha'ban and forgives all of them, except one who is a polytheist or one who severs ties. They said: The Messenger of God ﷺ used to fast Sha'ban, and Ramadan would enter while he was fasting, out of reverence for Ramadan.
