al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 1209

✧ Urging good deeds, aiding the distressed, and relieving them

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَكَمِ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَبِي حَسَّانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ؓ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ -:

مَنْ أَغَاثَ مَلْهُوفًا كَتَبَ اللهُ تَعَالَى لَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَسَبْعِينَ حَسَنَةً، وَاحِدَةً مِنْهُنَّ يُصْلِحُ اللهُ تَعَالَى بِهَا لَهُ أَمْرَ دُنْيَاهُ وَآخِرَتِهِ، وَاثْنَتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ فِي الدَّرَجَاتِ

Translation

  5. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ Whoever relieves a distressed person, Allah Almighty records for him seventy-three good deeds, one of which Allah Almighty uses to set right for him his affairs of this world and the Hereafter, and seventy-two are in degrees [of reward].
