✧ Ibn Abbas ؓ stood to pray over a funeral. He said the takbir, then began the Opening of the Book (al-Fatihah), raising his voice with it. Then he prayed upon the Prophet ﷺ and said the takbir, and sincerely supplicated for the deceased. Then he said the takbir and supplicated for the believing men and women. Then he turned to the people and said: 'O people, by Allah, I did not raise my voice with the recitation except so that you may know that it is a sunnah.'
