✧ The Permission to Weep for the Deceased

وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالُوا:

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمَ مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ: مَا كَانَ مِنْ حُزْنٍ فِي قَلْبٍ، أَوْ عَيْنٍ، فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ رَحْمَةٌ، وَمَا كَانَ مِنْ صَوْتٍ أَوْ نُدْبَةٍ فَهُوَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said on the day Ibrahim died: 'Whatever sorrow is in the heart or the eye is only mercy. But whatever is in the voice or in loud lamentation is from Satan.'
