The Messenger of Allah ﷺ inspected him on the day of Uhud when he was fourteen years old, but he did not permit me. Then he inspected me on the day of the Trench when I was fifteen years old, and he permitted me. Nafi said: I came to Umar b. Abd al-Aziz while he was caliph and related this hadith to him. He said, "This is indeed the boundary between the young and the adult." He then wrote to his officials instructing them to assign stipends to those who had reached the age of fifteen.
