machine translationThe hadith of ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib: the Prophet ﷺ said: "Performing the ablution thoroughly despite disagreeable circumstances, taking steps toward the mosques, and waiting for prayer after prayer wash away sins entirely." Ibn Zanjawayh narrated it from the hadith of al-Ḥārith b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Dhubāb, from Abū al-ʿAbbās, from Ibn al-Musayyab, from him. Al-Dāraquṭnī said: ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad b. ʿAqīl narrated it from Ibn al-Musayyab and traced it back through a chain to Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, and both are weak (ḍaʿīf). Al-Bazzār said: Ṣafwān narrated it in this way from al-Ḥārith, from Saʿīd.

machine translationIt is a hadith narrated by al-Ḥārith b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Dhubāb, and there is disagreement about it from him. Ṣafwān b. ʿĪsā narrated it from al-Ḥārith, from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab, from ʿAlī. Abū Ḍamrah contradicted him and narrated it from al-Ḥārith b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Abū al-ʿAbbās, from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab, from ʿAlī. Muḥammad b. Fulayḥ narrated it from al-Ḥārith, from Abū al-ʿAbbās. ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad b. ʿAqīl also narrated this hadith from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab and traced it back through a chain to Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, and both are weak (ḍaʿīf).

أيهما أصح قال هذا من تخاليط ابن عقيل من سوء حفظه مرة يقول هكذا ومرة يقول هكذا لا يضبط الصحيح أيما هو
machine translationWhich of the two is more authentic? He said: This is from the confusions (takhālīṭ) of Ibn ʿAqīl, due to his poor memory; at times he says it like this and at times like that. He does not firmly retain which one is the correct one.
