حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ
مَنْ صَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدٍ جَمَاعَةً أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً لاَ تَفُوتُهُ الرَّكْعَةُ الأُولَى مِنْ صَلاَةِ الْعِشَاءِ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهَا عِتْقًا مِنَ النَّارِ

The Prophet used to say: "Whoever performs prayer in congregation at the mosque for forty nights, never missing the first Rak'ah of the 'Isha' prayer, Allah will thereby decree for him salvation from the Fire."

machine translationʿUmārah b. Ghazīyah narrated it from Anas b. Mālik from ʿUmar, and we do not know of any hearing by ʿUmārah from Anas. Ismāʿīl b. ʿAyyāsh and Muḥammad b. Isḥāq narrated it from him in this way. Yaḥyā b. Ayyūb narrated it from ʿUmārah b. Ghazīyah from a man from Anas b. Mālik from ʿUmar. Abū al-ʿAlāʾ al-Khaffāf, Khālid b. Ṭahmān al-Kūfī, narrated this ḥadīth from Ḥabīb Abū ʿUmayrah al-Iskāf from Anas from the Prophet ﷷ, without mentioning ʿUmar in it. It was also said: from Abū al-ʿAlāʾ from Ḥabīb b. Abī Thābit from Anas b. Mālik; Qays b. al-Rabīʿ and ʿAṭāʾ b. Muslim said this from him, but that is an error on the part of whoever said it, and God knows best. Abū al-ʿAlāʾ al-Khaffāf only narrated it from Ḥabīb Abū ʿUmayrah al-Iskāf al-Kūfī from Anas.
