What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationThere is inconsistency (iḍṭirāb) in it.

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationAuthentic (ṣaḥīḥ), and no one has any criticism of it. As for the narration of Ibn Abī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Ṣaʿṣaʿah, it is defective (maʿlūlah) and is not authentically reported from him, from his father, from Abū Saʿīd; rather, it belongs to Yaḥyā b. ʿUmārah, from Abū Saʿīd.
