machine translationThere is disagreement about the wording as reported from Abū Isḥāq. Al-Thawrī, Sharīk, Isrāʾīl and Zuhayr narrated it from Abū Isḥāq, and they agreed that when ʿAmmār asked permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Welcome to the good one, the purified." Al-Aʿmash also narrated it from Abū Isḥāq, and there is disagreement about what is reported from him. Nūḥ b. Darrāj said, from al-Aʿmash, the same as al-Thawrī and those who followed him. But ʿAthām b. ʿAlī said, from al-Aʿmash with this chain, that the Prophet ﷺ said: "ʿAmmār is filled with faith to the very joints of his bones." The correct version is that of al-Thawrī and those who followed him. There is another chain from al-Thawrī with a similar meaning, which ʿAṭāʾ b. Muslim narrates from al-Thawrī, from Abū Isḥāq, from Aws b. Aws, from the Prophet ﷺ: "The blood and flesh of ʿAmmār are forbidden to the Fire." ʿAṭāʾ b. Muslim was alone in narrating it. Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. Saʿdān narrated to us, Shuʿayb b. Ayyūb narrated to us, Yaḥyā b. Ādam narrated to us, he said: Sufyān and Isrāʾīl narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq, from Hāniʾ b. Hāniʾ, from ʿAlī, who said: ʿAmmār asked permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "Welcome. Let the good one, the purified, enter."
