✧ A man came forward and sat before the Messenger of God ﷺ while we were with him, and said, “O Messenger of God, we know how to greet you with peace, but how should we invoke blessings upon you when we pray in our prayer—may God bless you?” He said: He remained silent until we wished that the man had not asked him. Then he said, “When you invoke blessings upon me, say: O God, bless Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. And bless Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.”
