machine translationAl-Aʿmash narrates it, and there is disagreement about it from him. Yaḥyā b. Abī Bukayr narrated it from Isrāʾīl, from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Sufyān, from Jābir. But the preserved (maḥfūẓ) version from al-Aʿmash is from ʿUmārah b. ʿUmayr, from Abū Maʿmar, from Abū Masʿūd, from the Prophet ﷺ.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of Abū Maʿmar ʿAbdullāh b. Sakhbarah, from Abū Masʿūd, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The prayer of a man does not suffice if he does not straighten his back between his bowing and his prostration." He said: Al-Aʿmash narrates it from ʿUmārah b. ʿUmayr, from Abū Maʿmar, from Abū Masʿūd. Shuʿbah, al-Thawrī and the companions of al-Aʿmash related it from him. Isrāʾīl b. Yūnus differed from them and narrated it from al-Aʿmash, from ʿUmārah, from Abū ʿAmmār, from Abū Masʿūd, but the correct form is from Abū Maʿmar. Isrāʾīl also came with an odd (gharīb) chain from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Sufyān, from Jābir; Yaḥyā b. Abī Bukayr alone narrated it from Isrāʾīl. Al-Thawrī narrated it from Ḥabīb, who is not Ibn Abī Thābit, from ʿUmārah, from Abū Maʿmar, from Abū Masʿūd. This Ḥabīb is Ḥabīb b. Ḥassān; Abū Ḥudhayfah alone narrated it from al-Thawrī. Thābit b. Muḥammad al-ʿĀbid narrated it from al-Thawrī, from al-Aʿmash, from ʿUmārah. He also came with another odd chain from al-Thawrī, from Manṣūr, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Yazīd, from Abū Masʿūd.
