✧ Some of the Ansar gathered, among them Sahl b. Sa'd al-Sa'idi, Abu Humayd al-Sa'idi, and Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi, and they mentioned the prayer of the Messenger of God ﷺ. Abu Humayd said: Let me narrate to you, for I am the most knowledgeable of you about this. They said: Then narrate. He said: I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ perform the ablution well, then he entered the prayer and said the takbir, raising his hands level with his shoulders. Then he bowed and placed his hands on his knees, grasping them, and he did not lower his head nor raise it, and he kept his arms away from his sides. Then he raised his head and stood upright until every bone of his returned to its place. Then Bundar mentioned the rest of the hadith, and at the end he said: Then all the people said: Thus was the prayer of the Messenger of God ﷺ.

  • Ibn Khuzaymah

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThis hadith is only known from the narration of ʿAbbās b. Sahl, and it is sound (ṣaḥīḥ) from his hadith.

machine translationOur shaykh al-Dhahabī said in his Mīzān: Fulayḥ b. Sulaymān al-Madanī, although the authors of the six books narrated from him and he is among the great scholars, has been criticized. He was graded weak (ḍaʿīf) by al-Nasāʾī, Ibn Maʿīn, Abū Ḥātim, Abū Dāwūd, Yaḥyā al-Qaṭṭān and al-Sājī. Al-Dāraquṭnī and Ibn ʿAdī said: There is no harm in him (lā baʾsa bihi).

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationAl-Ḥasan b. al-Ḥurr narrated it from ʿĪsā b. ʿAbdullāh b. Mālik, from Muḥammad b. ʿAmr b. ʿAṭāʾ, from al-ʿAbbās b. Sahl b. Saʿd, from Abū Ḥumayd al-Sāʿidī, from the Prophet ﷺ, like the hadith of ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. Jaʿfar. The hadith is originally sound (ṣaḥīḥ), because Fulayḥ b. Sulaymān narrated it from al-ʿAbbās b. Sahl, from Abū Ḥumayd al-Sāʿidī. My father said: So the hadith became mursal.
