أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ:

جَاءَ نَهِيكُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ فَقَالَ: كَيْفَ تَجِدُ هَذَا الْحَرْفَ: مِنْ مَاءٍ غَيْرِ آسِنٍ أَوْ ( يَاسِنٍ ) ؟ فَقَالَ: " أَكُلَّ الْقُرْآنِ أَحْصَيْتَ إِلَّا هَذَا ؟ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَقْرَأُ الْمُفَصَّلَ فِي رَكْعَةٍ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: هَذًّا كَهَذِّ الشِّعْرِ. إِنَّ أَقْوَامًا يَقْرَؤُونَ الْقُرْآنَ بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ لَا يَعْدُو تَرَاقِيَهُمْ، وَلَكِنَّهُ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي قَلْبٍ فَرَسَخَ فِيهِ نَفَعَ، وَإِنَّ أَخْيَرَ الصَّلَاةِ الرُّكُوعُ وَالسُّجُودُ

✧ Nahik b. Sinan came to Abdullah and said: How do you find this reading: “min ma'in ghayri asin” or “yasin”? He said: “Have you counted all of the Qur'an except this?” He said: I recite the Mufassal in one rak'ah. Abdullah said: Hasty like the recitation of poetry. There are people who recite the Qur'an with their tongues but it does not go beyond their collarbones. But when it enters the heart and takes root, it benefits. Indeed, the best part of the prayer is the bowing and the prostration.
