✧ On the Virtue of the Day of Arafah and the Forgiveness Hoped for on That Day

حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْغَافِقِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، [قَالَ ]: أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْرَمَةُ؛ ( ح ) وَحَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُنْقِذٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ مَخْرَمَةَ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ يُونُسَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

مَا مِنْ يَوْمٍ أَكْثَرُ أَنْ يُعْتِقَ اللهُ فِيهِ عَبْدًا مِنَ النَّارِ مِنْ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيَدْعُو، ثُمَّ يُبَاهِي الْمَلَائِكَةَ وَيَقُولُ: مَا أَرَادَ هَؤُلَاءِ. ؟

✧ There is no day on which God sets free more servants from the Fire than the Day of ʿArafah. He draws near, then boasts to the angels and says, “What do these want?”
