✧ Facing the Qiblah When Standing at Arafah

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:

دَخَلْنَا عَلَى جَابِرٍ فَقُلْتُ: أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ حَجَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَذَكَرَ بَعْضَ الْحَدِيثِ، وَقَالَ: رَكِبَ الْقَصْوَاءَ حَتَّى أَتَى الْمَوْقِفَ فَجَعَلَ بَطْنَ نَاقَتِهِ إِلَى الصَّخَرَاتِ، وَجَعَلَ حَبْلَ الْمُشَاةِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَاسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ وَاقِفًا حَتَّى غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَذَهَبَتِ الصُّفْرَةُ قَلِيلًا حِينَ غَابَ الْقُرْصُ

Translation

✧ We entered upon Jābir, and I said, “Tell me about the Hajj of the Messenger of God ﷺ.” He mentioned part of the hadith and said: He mounted al-Qaṣwāʾ until he came to the standing place. He made the belly of his she-camel face the rocks, placed the path of the pedestrians before him, and faced the qiblah. He remained standing until the sun set and the yellowness departed a little when the disk had disappeared.
