حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَوْلَا حَدَاثَةُ عَهْدِ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ لَنَقَضْتُ الْبَيْتَ، فَبَنَيْتُهُ عَلَى أَسَاسِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ؛ فَإِنَّ قُرَيْشًا اسْتَقْصَرَتْ فِي بِنَائِهِ، وَجَعَلْتُ لَهَا خَلْفًا

✧ Were it not that your people's covenant with disbelief was recent, I would demolish the House and build it on the foundation of Abraham, for Quraysh shortened its building, and I would make for it a rear entrance.
