✧ The Virtue of Touching the Two Corners

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ يَقُولُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ: مَا لِيَ لَا أَرَاكَ تَسْتَلِمُ إِلَّا هَذَيْنِ الرُّكْنَيْنِ: الْحَجَرَ الْأَسْوَدَ، وَالرُّكْنَ الْيَمَانِيَ ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: " إِنْ أَفْعَلْ فَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ مَسْحَهُمَا يَحُطُّ الْخَطَايَا

Translation

✧ He heard his father say to Ibn Umar: "Why do I not see you touching except these two corners: the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner?" Ibn Umar said: "If I do so, I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: 'Wiping them removes sins.'"
