✧ Supplication between the Two Corners

حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَسَدٌ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى - السُّنَّةِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ:

كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: احْفَظُوا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، وَكَانَ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، وَكَانَ يَدْعُو بِهِ بَيْنَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ: رَبِّ قَنِّعْنِي بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِي، وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ، وَاخْلُفْ عَلَى كُلِّ غَائِبَةٍ لِي بِخَيْرٍ

Translation

  4. ʿAṭāʾ b. al-Sāʾib
  5. Saʿīd b. Jubayr

✧ Ibn Abbas used to say: "Memorize this hadith," and he would trace it back to the Prophet ﷺ, and he would supplicate with it between the two corners: "My Lord, make me content with what You have provided me, and bless it for me, and replace for me every absent thing with good."
