✧ Desirability of Bathing After Applying Perfume at the Time of Ihram

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ [بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ] بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ:

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنِ الطِّيبِ عِنْدَ الْإِحْرَامِ، فَقَالَ: لِأَنْ أَتَطَيَّبَ بِقَطِرَانٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَفْعَلَ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِعَائِشَةَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَرْحَمُ اللهُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، كُنْتُ أُطَيِّبُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَيَطُوفُ عَلَى نِسَائِهِ، ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ مُحْرِمًا يَنْفَحُ طِيبًا

Translation

✧ He asked Ibn Umar about perfume at the time of ihram, and he said: 'To perfume myself with tar is more beloved to me than to do that.' He said: Then I mentioned that to Aisha, and she said: 'May Allah have mercy on Abu Abd al-Rahman. I used to perfume the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then he would go around to his wives, and then he would enter the morning in ihram, exuding perfume.'
