✧ Desirability of Being Kind to Mounted Animals in Feeding and Watering

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مِسْكِينٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُهَاجِرِ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي كَبْشَةَ السَّلُولِيِّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ الْحَنْظَلِيَّةِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَرَّ بِبَعِيرٍ قَدْ لَحِقَ ظَهْرُهُ بِبَطْنِهِ، فَقَالَ: اتَّقُوا اللهَ فِي هَذِهِ الْبَهَائِمِ الْمُعْجَمَةِ، ارْكَبُوهَا صَالِحَةً، وَكُلُوهَا صَالِحَةً

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a camel whose belly was clinging to its back (from hunger). He said: "Fear Allah regarding these mute beasts. Ride them while they are healthy and eat them while they are healthy."
