حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، [قَالَ ]: أَخْبَرَنِي يَعْلَى، وَهُوَ ابْنُ حَكِيمٍ، أَنَّ عِكْرِمَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ، أَخَا بَنِي سَاعِدَةَ، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أُمِّي تُوُفِّيَتْ وَأَنَا غَائِبٌ، فَهَلْ يَنْفَعُهَا إِنْ تَصَدَّقْتُ عَنْهَا بِشَيْءٍ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ. قَالَ: فَإِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ أَنَّ حَائِطِي الَّذِي بِالْمِخْرَافِ صَدَقَةٌ عَنْهَا

✧ Sa'd b. Ubadah, the brother of Banu Sa'idah, said: O Messenger of Allah, my mother died while I was absent. Will it benefit her if I give something in charity on her behalf? He said: Yes. He said: Then I call you to witness that my garden at al-Mikhraf is charity on her behalf.
