✧ The collective chapters of the charity of the breaking of the fast in Ramadan

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُزَيْزٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَلَامَةُ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهُمْ

كَانُوا يُخْرِجُونَ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْمُدِّ الَّذِي يَقْتَاتُ بِهِ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ، أَوِ الصَّاعِ الَّذِي يَقْتَاتُونَ بِهِ، يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ كُلُّهُمْ

Translation

✧ They used to give the zakah of breaking the fast during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the mudd that the people of the house consumed, or the sāʿ that they consumed. All the people of Madinah did that.
