حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ - وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَمَّارٍ - قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي سِمَاكٌ أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ قَالَ:

لَمَّا اعْتَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نِسَاءَهُ، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ [إِنَّمَا] كُنْتَ فِي غُرْفَةٍ تِسْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّ الشَّهْرَ يَكُونُ تِسْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ secluded himself from his wives, I said: O Messenger of Allah, [but] you were in a room for twenty-nine days. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, the month may be twenty-nine."
