✧ Kurayb, the freed slave of Ibn Abbas, informed him that Ibn Abbas and some people from the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Umm Salamah to ask her on which days the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted most. She said: Saturday and Sunday. I returned to them and informed them, and it was as if they rejected that. So they all went to her and said: We sent this one to you about such and such, and he mentioned that you said such and such. She said: He spoke the truth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted most often on Saturday and Sunday. He used to say: "They are two days of Eid for the polytheists, and I want to differ from them."
