حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، وَأَبُو مُوسَى قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ( ح ) وَحَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ، أَيْضًا، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، [وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى]، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ( ح ) وَحَدَّثَنَا [جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ]، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مَهْدِيِّ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الزِّمَّانِيِّ، يَعْنِي عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ:

بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِ عُمَرُ، فَقَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، صَوْمُ يَوْمِ الِاثْنَيْنِ ؟ قَالَ: يَوْمٌ وُلِدْتُ فِيهِ، وَيَوْمٌ أَمُوتُ فِيهِ. هَذَا حَدِيثُ قَتَادَةَ. وَفِي حَدِيثِ وَكِيعٍ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَلَمْ يَذْكَرْ عُمَرَ، وَقَالَ: فِيهِ وُلِدْتُ، وَفِيهِ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ. 2118 2118 - وَحَدِيثُ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنْ صَوْمِهِ، فَغَضِبَ، وَسُئِلَ عَنْ صَوْمِ الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ قَالَ: ذَاكَ يَوْمٌ - يَعْنِي الِاثْنَيْنِ - وُلِدْتُ فِيهِ وَبُعِثْتُ فِيهِ " - أَوْ قَالَ: " أُنْزِلَ عَلَيَّ فِيهِ

✧ While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Umar came to him and said, 'O Prophet of Allah, fasting on Monday?' He said, 'A day on which I was born and a day on which I shall die.' This is the hadith of Qatadah. In the hadith of Waki': a man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he did not mention Umar, and he said, 'On it I was born, and on it revelation came to me.' Hadith of Shu'bah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about his fasting, and he became angry; and he was asked about fasting on Monday and Thursday, and he said, 'That is a day – meaning Monday – on which I was born and on which I was sent' – or he said, 'on which it was sent down to me.'
