✧ We used to fast Ashura before Ramadan was made obligatory. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to urge us upon it and check on us regarding it. When Ramadan was made obligatory, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not urge us upon it nor check on us regarding it, and we still used to do it.
