حَدَّثَنَا الصَّنْعَانِيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، وَذَكَرَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، حَدَّثَتْهُ، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَنْبَرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِمِثْلِهِ. وَزَادَ: قَالَ:
وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا، وَكَانَ أَحَبَّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا مِنْهَا - وَإِنْ قَلَّتْ - وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً أَثْبَتَهَا

✧ And he used to say: 'Take from deeds what you are able to bear, for Allah does not tire until you tire.' And the prayer most beloved to him was that which one was consistent upon, even if it was little. And when he performed a prayer, he would persist in it.
