حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:

رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ الْأَمْرِ فَرَغِبَ عَنْهُ رِجَالٌ، فَقَالَ: مَا بَالُ رِجَالٍ آمُرُهُمْ بِالْأَمْرِ يَرْغَبُونَ عَنْهُ ؟ وَاللهِ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُهُمْ بِاللهِ، وَأَشَدُّهُمْ لَهُ خَشْيَةً

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ granted a concession in some matter, but some men abstained from it. He said: What is the matter with men whom I command in a matter, yet they abstain from it? By God, I know God better than they do, and I fear Him more than they do.
