✧ Every deed of the son of Adam is for him except fasting, for it is for Me, and I reward it. Fasting is a shield. By Him in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the breath of the fasting person is sweeter to Allah on the Day of Resurrection than the scent of musk. The fasting person has two joys: when he breaks his fast, he rejoices in his breaking, and when he meets his Lord, he rejoices in his fast.
