✧ Ibn 'Abbas ordered the muezzin to give the call to prayer on Friday, and that was a rainy day. He said: 'Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah.' Then he said to him: 'Call out to the people: Let them pray in their homes.' The people said to him: 'What is this that you have done?' He said: 'One better than me did this. Do you order me to bring the people out, or to have them come treading through mud up to their knees?'
