✧ I saw the Prophet ﷺ give salutation to his right and to his left until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen. Al-Zuhri said: This has not been heard from the hadith of the Messenger of God ﷺ. Ismaʿil said: Have you heard all the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ? He said: No. He said: Then two-thirds? He said: No. He said: Then half? He said: No. He said: Then this is in the half that you have not heard.

machine translationThe ḥadīth of Saʿd: al-Darāwardī erred in it, for he narrated it differently from what the people narrated, with a single salutation (taslīm), whereas others narrate it with two salutations. The ḥadīth is only as Ibn al-Mubārak and others narrated it from Muṣʿab b. Thābit, from Ismāʿīl b. Muḥammad b. Saʿd, from ʿĀmir b. Saʿd, from his father.
