أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ ( يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُفَضَّلِ )، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ:

كُنَّ النِّسَاءُ يُؤْمَرْنَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ لَا يَرْفَعْنَ رُءُوسَهُنَّ حَتَّى يَأْخُذَ الرِّجَالُ مَقَاعِدَهُمْ مِنْ قَبَاحَةِ الثِّيَابِ

✧ The women used to be commanded during prayer in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not to raise their heads until the men had taken their sitting places, due to the ugliness of the garments.
