✧ While the Muslims were in the dawn prayer on Monday and Abū Bakr was leading them in prayer, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ surprised them by lifting the curtain of ʿĀʾishah's chamber. He looked at them while they were in rows in prayer, then he smiled and laughed. Abū Bakr stepped back on his heels to join the row, thinking that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanted to come out for prayer. Anas said: The Muslims almost disrupted their prayer out of joy at seeing the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gestured to them to complete their prayer, then he entered the chamber and let the curtain down between him and them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ died that day.
