✧ The chapters on the standing of the followers behind the imam and the sunnahs therein

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِنِّي لَأَدْخُلُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَأُرِيدُ إِطَالَتَهَا، فَأَسْمَعُ بُكَاءَ الصَّبِيِّ فَأَتَجَوَّزُ فِي صَلَاتِي، مِمَّا أَعْلَمُ مِنْ وَجْدِ أُمِّهِ مِنْ بُكَائِهِ

✧ Indeed I enter the prayer intending to lengthen it, then I hear the crying of a child, so I shorten my prayer because of what I know of his mother's distress from his crying.
