✧ He entered upon 'A'ishah and asked her about the night prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: 'He used to pray thirteen rak'ahs at night. Then he prayed eleven rak'ahs, leaving off two rak'ahs. Then he was taken (in death) while he was praying nine rak'ahs at night, the last of his night prayer being the witr. Then sometimes he would come to this bed of his, and Bilal would come to him and announce the prayer.'
