✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had promised al-Abbas a small herd of camels. He sent me to him after the evening prayer, and he was in the house of Maymunah bt. al-Harith. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ slept, and I rested my head on the pillow on which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had rested his head. He slept for a short while, then he ﷺ got up, performed ablution and made it thorough, using a small amount of water. Then he began the prayer. I got up, performed ablution, and stood on his left. He moved me with his hand, took hold of my ear, and made me stand on his right. He would say the taslim after every two rak'ahs. Maymunah was menstruating; she got up, performed ablution, then sat behind him remembering Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said to her: “Did your devil make you get up?” She said: “May my father and mother be ransomed for you, O Messenger of Allah, do I have a devil?” He said: “Yes, by the One who sent me with the truth, I have one too, but Allah helped me against him, so he submitted.” When dawn broke, he got up and performed Witr with one rak'ah, then he prayed the two rak'ahs of dawn, then he lay on his right side until Bilal came and called him to prayer.
