حَدَّثَنَا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أَبِي قَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَهُ: أَنَّهُ
سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ: كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ، آخِرَ اللَّيْلِ أَوْ أَوَّلَهُ ؟ قَالَتْ: كُلَّ ذَلِكَ قَدْ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ، رُبَّمَا أَوْتَرَ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ، وَرُبَّمَا أَوْتَرَ مِنْ آخِرِهِ، فَقُلْتُ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي الْأَمْرِ سَعَةً
Translation

✧ He asked 'A'ishah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ: How would the Messenger of God ﷺ perform Witr—at the end of the night or at its beginning? She said: He would do all of that; sometimes he would perform Witr at the beginning of the night, and sometimes at its end. I said: Praise be to God who has made the matter flexible.
