✧ Qatadah b. Di'amah narrated to me, from Ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, similar to it, meaning that he prostrated the two prostrations of forgetfulness on the day Dhu al-Yadayn came to him, after the salutation. Abu Bakr said: The report of Ibn Sirin from Abu Hurayrah indicates the heedlessness of those who claim that this story occurred before the Prophet's ﷺ prohibition of speaking during prayer. Whoever understands knowledge and reflects on the reports of the Prophet ﷺ and the wording of the transmitters of this report knows that such a statement is ignorance on the part of its utterer. In the report of Ibn Sirin from Abu Hurayrah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer. Thus Malik b. Anas narrated it, from Dawud b. al-Husayn, from Abu Sufyan, the client of Ibn Abi Ahmad, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer.

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr
