أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ - عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ:

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَطَبَ النَّاسَ فَوَعَظَهُمْ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ، إِنَّكُنَّ أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ جَزْلَةٌ: وَبِمَ ذَاكَ ؟ قَالَ: " بِكَثْرَةِ اللَّعْنِ، وَكُفْرِكُنَّ الْعَشِيرَ، وَمَا رَأَيْتُ مِنْ نَاقِصَاتِ عَقْلٍ وَدِينٍ أَغْلَبَ لِذَوِي الْأَلْبَابِ وَذَوِي الرَّأْيِ مِنْكُنَّ " قَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ: مَا نُقْصَانُ عُقُولِنَا وَدِينِنَا ؟ قَالَ: " شَهَادَةُ امْرَأَتَيْنِ مِنْكُنَّ بِشَهَادَةِ رَجُلٍ، وَنُقْصَانُ دِينِكُنَّ الْحَيْضَةُ، تَمْكُثُ إِحْدَاكُنَّ الثَّلَاثَ [أَوِ الْأَرْبَعَ] لَا تُصَلِّي

✧ The Prophet ﷺ addressed the people and admonished them, then said: O company of women, you are the majority of the people of the Fire. A wise woman said: And why is that? He said: Because of your frequent cursing and your ingratitude to your husbands, and I have not seen any among those deficient in intellect and religion more overpowering to men of understanding and men of opinion than you. A woman said: What is the deficiency in our intellect and our religion? He said: The testimony of two of you equals the testimony of one man, and the deficiency of your religion is menstruation—one of you remains three or four [days] without praying.
